Its time to blog! Today's paper were Physics and DNT. Totally flunk!! I battled with these 2 papers that i got tired and gave up. ): Tomorrow will be science pratical examination. And the last paper which is Friday will be having Science MCQ. WOOHOO! I can smell the holiday coming in my way!
Nothing really motivates me to study this days. Really. Everything around me seems to be affecting my life now.
Went for a swim with Huitian and Germaine <3 The ladies on top. Clearing my mind for awhile.
I met this girl. I hope she know I'm talking about her.
Her love pours down on me, surrounds me like a waterfall
She moved me. Though she wasn't that sweet than any typical girl who can sweet talk until gao gao like kopi-o But i still love her
I don't need commitment from her. She just needs be true to me. Showing me how much she love me. Maybe I haven't find the right one. But ya. I really like her so much than anyone can ever imagine for the time being.Sweet talk doesn't gain my heart. Its a no-no thing for me. No matter how sweet your talk is it will never affect me. Never ever. BUT I TEND TO BE PARANOID AT TIMES WHEN SHE DOESN'T SHOW HER LOVE TO ME.
Actions speak louder than words. Show me how much you love me than telling me.Okay, maybe show and tell la LOL but mostly SHOWING. I'm actually contradict my words here.. HMMM. so ya.

Action for AIDS (AfA)
SO WHAZZ UP GUYS!!!!
So
basically what am i gonna blog about today is ACTION FOR AIDS. The
purpose of blogging this is because it is to make HIV testing a harmless
and absolutely acceptable practice in the minds of the public. I wanna MAKE YOU GUYS THINK OF THE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES OF THEIR LIVES WHICH COULD POSSIBLY LEAD TO AN INFECTION.
I've always wondered what happens if i get AIDS/HIV one day. What is like to be a Person Living With HIV/AIDS.
Do you guys know that it is really not a joke being a Person Living With HIV/AIDS. You could be the next one getting AIDS/HIV. I don't mean to scare you guys but you know... "EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE"
But SO WHAT IF YOU GET HIV/ AIDS. You are still a human being! That doesn't makes you frightened or somehow depress and HAVE THIS FEELING THAT "YOU-DON'T-WANNA-FACE-THE-PUBLIC"
Don't get it mix up
HIV and AIDS are different. They are not the same. I repeat NOT THE SAME.
HIV is an abbreviation for Human Immunodeficiency Virus which is the virus that causes the immune system to breakdown. AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) Is he last stage of the HIV infection, it develops as a result of this breakdown of the immunity system. While HIV is the underlying cause of AIDS, Not all HIV-positive individuals have AIDS, as HIV can remain in a latent state for many years.
HIV can be transmitted in three main ways:
-Mother-to-child transmission
-Transmission through body fluids
(Including blood, pre-seminal fluid, vaginal secretions, breast milk)
-Sexual Transmission
Okay to be more specific :
- Vaginal Sex
- Anal Sex Involving Either A MAN or WOMAN
- Oral Sex
- Sharing Needles
- Home
- Unlicensed Tattooing or Body Piercing
- Accidental Needle Pricks
- Lastly , Blood Transfusions.
Currently, the number of people testing positive for the HIV has been increasing over the last 10 years! At the end of 2010, 441 people were tested positive!! 441 PEOPLE?! CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT?! Out of which 53% where in the late stage of the infection or commonly known as AIDS!! 53 FREAKING %!!!
According to research done by Tan Tock Seng Hospital, young adults age between 18-29 displayed low levels of knowledge and harbored myths are misconceptions towards HIV/AIDS. The high level of stigma attached to HIV/AIDS is also barrier to normalizing HIV testing and this demonstrator by this overwhelming opt-out rate of HIV test.
Even though there hasn't been a cure developed for the virus as of yet, advances in medication have allowed people who have tested positive to continue an enriching life. So you guys don't have to be frightened!! Its not gonne be the end of the world! You can still live your life!
HIV Testing: Simple, Anonymous and Affordable.
Simple :
Blood test only requires a few drops of blood by the prick of finger. It is relatively painless as compared to drawing a full vial of blood. Oral swab testing is also available and these are painless yet without forgoing its accuracy.
Anonymous:
At
the Action for AIDS Anonymous HIV test site, no name and no records are
kept even if the result is positive. Action of AIDS also have trained
volunteers to provide pre and post test counseling for all clients.
Affordable:
The
test costs S$30 at the clinic, located at 31 Kelantan Lane #01-15 on
Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:30PM-8:15PM and on Saturdays at
1:30PM-3:15PM. For more information head to: http://www.afa.org.sg/anonymous.php or call their hotline at 62540212
You can also catch their mobile testing services, which are located at various places on different days and times.
There's no harm testing! Just sacrify a few drops of your blood and pay for a S$30 to keep ensure that you are SAFE!
Protect yourself!
Ways to protect yourself include using a condom for all sexual activities, not sharing needles, maintaining a monogamous, long-term relationship with a partner who has been tested and found to be free from HIV and of course abstinence.
Consider a test if:
- The condom broke during sex
- You did not use a condom during sex
- You have multiple sex partners concurrently or over a period of time
- You’ve had sex but have never been tested before.

HIV Myths
I don't need to worry about becoming HIV positive -- new drugs will keep me well.
Yes,
antiretroviral drugs are improving and extending the lives of many
people who are HIV-positive. However, many of these drugs are expensive
and produce serious side effects. None yet provide a cure. Also,
drug-resistant strains of HIV make treatment an increasing challenge.
"You must be nuts if you think this way. NUTS MAN! NUTS!!!!" -my own opinion about this myth

My partner and I are both HIV positive -- there's no reason for us to practice safer sex.
Good
job if both you and your partners are on treatment and have
undetectable viral loads. However continue to practice safer sex --
wearing condoms or using dental dams -- can protect you both from
becoming exposed to other (potentially drug resistant) strains of HIV,
or re-infect each other which may complicate treatment.
"So do you mean you don't eat dinner? Since you have already eaten lunch. " - my own opinion about this myth

You can get HIV by being close to people with HIV/AIDS
While
HIV is transmissible, it does not spread like air-borne viruses such as
flu. The virus is primarily transmitted through the exchange of
infected blood products, semen/sperm, pre-cum, vaginal fluids and breast
milk.
HIV cannot be passed on through hugging, sharing of food, utensils or working in the same room.
"So this means you can still hold your girlfriend/boyfriend 's hand, touch their crotch. Mainly physical touch but not including blowjobs , handjobs, 696969 la!"- my own opinion about this myth

You can't have a baby if you or your partner is HIV positive
If
someone living with HIV decides to have a baby, there are options
available and steps they can take to ensure HIV is not passed on to
their partner during conception (if the partner is HIV negative) or to
their child. In the UK today there is less than a 1% chance of an HIV
positive mother passing HIV on to her child if the right steps are
taken.
If I'm receiving treatment, I can't spread the HIV virus.
When
HIV treatments work well, they can reduce the amount of virus in your
blood to a level so low that it doesn't show up in blood tests. Research
shows, however, that the virus is still "hiding" in other areas of the
body. It is still essential to practice safe sex so you won't make
someone else HIV-positive.
"#YOUSIAO? This is like you are full of fats and you went to the gym for 1 day. You expect to be Slim as MEGAN FOX ?" - my own opinion about this myth
Formed
in 1988, Action for AIDS (AfA) is a voluntary community based
organization and a registered charity since 7 October 1994. AfA’s
objectives are to provide support and assistance to persons living with
HIV and AIDS (PWAs); to increase awareness, education and understanding
of the infection; combat discrimination & stigmatization of PWAs and
their loved ones; and encourage AIDS-related research activities in
Singapore."#YOUSIAO? This is like you are full of fats and you went to the gym for 1 day. You expect to be Slim as MEGAN FOX ?" - my own opinion about this myth
Action
for AIDS Singapore was awarded the 2010 Lee Jong Wook Memorial Prize.
The prestigious award is given to persons, institutions, governmental or
nongovernmental organizations that have made an outstanding
